Fair 16th March – fabulous

The first fair of the year arrived, the “beast” was actually running :-) so took front of house at the Woodville, well as near to the front as allowed due to weight restrictions ( I knew I shouldn’t have eaten so much cake !)
Apologies for the rather old photo – no time on the day – headless chicken springs to mind ! We now have a roof & just as well considering the weather !

Yes the weather – it was awful :-( but this didn’t stop a bumper turn out of vintage loving guests attending the fair – and so for the first time we opened the doors 10 minutes early !!! This is unheard of !

My handsome doorman & long suffering love of my life :-) was faced with a never ending queue – sorry if you had to wait :-( !

Also required to spot the best dressed – and there were sooo many of you, thank you for such an amazing effort, we hope you enjoy your gifts.

The Three Belles had arrived – looking as fabulous as ever – do they never sleep ?

Forty stalls of vintage treasure for your pleasure – well actually 37 on the day we had a birth of kittens – ahhhhh, a dog with a dislocated knee and two sickness  (less said the better !) that prevented three of our popular traders from attending – although you couldn’t tell, everyone did a marvellous job of filling the gaps – thank you :-)

Dotty’s Delights once again delighted with fantastic cakes and lashings of tea, with a new arrival expected in June – is there a doctor in the house !

For the first time we welcomed the very talented Sara Norling and her pop up photo booth to the fair,

no charge on the day & the photos will be uploaded within the next couple of days – great fun was had by all – if you missed this you really did miss out ! :-(

The lovely Anna – who is now blonde ( so all my photos need replacing) and looking fabulous was rushed off her feet teasing our hair & making us over.

We had a fabulous selection of traders – sorry I know we need more menswear, but the lovely June ( who calls herself “the vintage idiot” but I can never bring myself to call her that !) has promised to bring lots more in June :-)

A great selection of homewares, including Wild Plum Retro Picnics & The Dolly Sisters.

More organisation required next time, best dressed will receive their gifts on the day – it may be you …..

…..two of the best dressed :-)

shall we do it all again on the 8th June at the Woodville ?

Swingtime Sweethearts, Annie & Le’arna return by popular request

I have also to thank the amazing Rebecca who is a very enthusiastic regular at the fair, and had posted her blog by that evening,
for some fabulous photos that we can use and of course a great blog too -take a look :-)

Saturday 16th March 2013

When I started to plan this event way back in November, the date was met with groans of disappointment, could they wait that long for the next Monica’s Vintage Fair ? – I hope it will prove to be worth the wait !

The Fair is on Saturday ! yes this the 16th March 10.30am – 3.30pm, once more the fair will be at the Woodville Halls, Gravesend DA12 1DD. I hope by then the snow will have cleared – but never fear a little sprinkling of snow will  not stop vintage heaven !

I am delighted to say we have forty stallholders, yes a whopping forty ! for your vintage shopping pleasure.

Our regular stallholders, Anchorsaweigh Vintage, Alice Brown’s Cupboard, Donnet Vintage, Mel’s Belles, Razzle Dazzle Vintage, Blue Angel Jewellery to name a few will be joined by plenty of new ones, Lady Jane’s Vintage Bandwagon  (soooo fabulous) , In Her Name Boutique, Vintage Promise have all booked booked their spaces for the day.

We also have June Nevin who returns with her simply fabulous fabulous menswear (guys please don’t miss out !)

Jamie returns with X-Spex – a fantastic selection of vintage sunglasses ( but it’s snowing I hear you cry ? snow glare !) and prescription frames too so we can look fabulous all the time!

Betty Dorothy & Gail – who are The Three Belles will entertain throughout the day with swing and songs from the 1940s.

Dotty’s Delights return with a fabulous selection of cakes for you to enjoy all served up on fabulous vintage crockery, with pretty flower displays from Amanda at Flower Heaven, 77 High Street Gravesend.

Autumn Fair, Saturday 10th November

Oh my goodness how time flies – The Fair is tomorrow ! Saturday 10th November 10.30am – 3.30pm.
It hasn’t been all plain sailing along the way – first we had to find a new venue ( the old one priced us out of the market !)Luckily The Woodville Theatre could see our potential so stepped into the void for us, thank you.

Our regular stallholders and plenty of new ones quickly booked their spaces for the day (bringing their goodies from a wide are Whitstable, Hertfordshire, & London ) so we are now able to bring you the perfect opportunity to start your Christmas shopping !

What a diverse selection we have for your delectation & remember many of the items available are not on the regular high street – hence our quip “miss it, miss out !”

Pure vintage clothing, so when asked where did you get that ? you can delight in saying “it’s vintage darling !”

Retro styled reproduction clothing – for those of you who don’t care to wear “other people’s clothes” but love vintage styling.

Homewares to die for – vintage and reproduction.
Hats handbags and shoes – because a girl can never have too many, come to that nor can a chap ( not sure about the handbags though – but well whatever makes one happy !!)

Jewellery to die for, individual pieces and at great prices too !

Anna of Fairheads Hair & Make-up will be on hand for fabulous mini makeovers – so if like me you so very often have a bad hair day ! let Anna sort those unruly tresses out ! Trouble with your cats eye flicks – Anna is your gal !

Swingtime Sweethearts Annie & Le’arna will entertain throughout the day with swing and songs from the 1940s.

Enjoy a cup of tea and a delicious slice of cake all served up on fabulous vintage crockery.
